The
Arc of High Point's residential program provides support in their home for adults with
developmental disabilities so they may live both as independently as
possible, and as productive citizens in the community. In addition
to providing a home environment, we work with appropriate agencies and
resources to help our residents obtain their
vocational, medical,
religious, recreational and educational needs. The Arc operates four group
homes throughout Jamestown and High
Point. There are three adult residences
and one Intermediate Care Facility home. During the day,
residents are employed in the community, working in a Community
Rehabilitation Program (CRP), or in a prevocational work setting.
In the afternoon residents return home where the group home manager is
there to offer the support and guidance needed for community
living. Individual goal plans are developed and implemented with
each resident to attain their highest level of independence. Goal
plans include areas such as cooking, personal hygiene, social skills,
budgeting, and constructive leisure activities.
