The Arc of High Point Day Care Center

The Arc of High Point Day Care Center was begun in 1979 to offer day care services to the working parents of children ages 3 through 21 with developmental disabilities.

The purpose of the program is to provide quality day care, designed to meet the developmental needs of children. The program is structured to include individual work as well as group activities designed to meet each child's developmental needs.

In developing the overall day care program and the child's individual program, we work both with the child's teachers and parents as we design a program for him or her that will enable that individual to work on personal developmental tasks.  Activities such as music, arts and crafts, story-times, movies, and recreational activities are offered to further enhance both physical and social skills.

Program Service Fees

daycare2.jpg (43260 bytes)The fees include all meals and snacks served during the child's stay, program materials, supplies, and recreational programs. Fees are due on a regularly scheduled basis: on the first day of the week.  All children must be fully registered prior to receiving day care services.  Families who register their child as a weekly participant will pay the full weekly fee no matter how many hours or days their child attends the program.

Parent Participation

  • Parents participating in the program must keep in contact with the day care director about any absences their child may have.

  • The parent is asked to notify the director if the child will be absent for any session.

  • Parents with children in the drop-in program must call the day care by the afternoon prior to the child attending a session to see if space is available and to make the necessary arrangements for that particular session.

  • It is the responsibility of the parent to let us know when your child is to be absent or will be dropping-in; it is not only very important for our program planning, but also  helps ensure the safety of your child.

  • Generally, contact concerning your child's special requirements is needed on an on-going basis.

Hours of Operation

During the school months, the center is open from 2:00pm until 6:00 pm.  The Center operates on the Guilford County Schools' calendar for workdays, holidays, snow days, and summer vacation.

The Center is located at 153 E. Bellevue Drive High Point, NC  27265.  All transportation is the responsibility of the parent.  The Guilford County School System provides transportation from the student's school to the day care program site; and other school systems may offer a similar service.  However, parents are responsible for arranging this transportation service with the child's school.

Print an application from this site, or contact Kara mcCann at (336) 883-0650 ext. 226 if you have questions or need an application.
