What is CAP/MR-DD?

The Community Alternative Program for Persons with Mental Retardation / Developmental Disabilities (CAP/MR-DD) is a special Medicaid program.  It funds services that allow individuals to live in the community instead of in an institutional setting.  It is important to understand that CAP/MR-DD provides money for services but not the services themselves.  If eligible, individuals must choose a qualified agency (such as The Arc of High Point).  The Arc of High Point is currently providing services for Guilford, Randolph, Forsyth, and Davidson counties.
