September 18, 2009…The Arc of High Point has been awarded National Accreditation through the

Council on Quality and Leadership. CQL Accreditation measures the organization’s direct impact

on the lives of people receiving services from the perspective of the people themselves.

According to Executive Director Tonya Fowler, “This process asked people to define quality in

their own lives, and how well we, as support providers, are meeting the expectations of the people

we support.”   Fowler added, “We couldn’t be more proud of this accomplishment and what it

means to the lives of the people we support. I am deeply proud of all of our staff and volunteers

for their commitment to helping people live the lives that they choose.”

The Arc of High Point has provided advocacy and support services for people with intellectual

and developmental disabilities and their families for 55 years.

The Council on Quality and Leadership is an international not-for-profit organization that brings

together providers, professionals, advocates and other leaders in the disability field whose vision is

community inclusion, dignity and quality of life for all people.
